Learning the Lingo: Photorealistic Imagery

By Katherine Jacoby | December 11, 2020

Photorealistic Imagery [noun]: 3D images created to reflect a highly accurate representation of how the subject appears in real life

They say a picture is worth 1,000 words, but if that picture is an immersive experience that costs you less than a traditional photo, is it worth more?

There is no questioning the value of product imagery during a consumer’s journey, but when you are a brand trying to get the most bang for your marketing dollar, getting the right images can take a large chunk of your budget. Traditional photography offers high resolution images, but has limitations when it comes to product views, zoom capabilities, and keeping product pages up to date with the latest features and colors. Photorealistic imagery offers the high quality, detailed views of the product without the high cost of repeated photo shoots and a more immersive experience for consumers shopping for products online.
