GENERAL SUMMARY:

Atlatl is seeking a highly motivated individual with experience in automated testing within a CI/CD environment. Atlatl provides rich, fully immersive 3D product interactivity for clients wishing to elevate their users’ experiences on their websites. As a QA Engineer at Atlatl, you will be responsible for writing automated test scripts, making technical decisions regarding automation framework, providing recommendations for continuous quality improvement, and mentoring other test engineers. A successful candidate will be a leader in the Atlatl development organization, leveraging their insights and experience to craft a best-in-class product that clients will use and enjoy daily. A background in software engineering with a focus on testing is required, and experience should demonstrate success in delivering high-quality features with low defect leakage in a fast-paced continuous delivery pipeline. The Sr. QA Engineer will serve as a member of our Product Development team, operating under Agile principles amongst a team of Software Developer peers, Product Architects, and under product direction from Product Owners. The position reports to an Engineering Manager.

Candidates must be personable, enthusiastic about testing, and knowledgeable about modern testing best practices and technologies. A successful candidate must be able to communicate effectively and work with other developers in a small-team environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Execute all testing activities including test plan development, manual testing, filing defects, writing automation, and maintaining documentation
  • Provide technical expertise in building and maintaining a reliable and efficient automated testing process
  • Represent and advocate for testing requirements to other key stakeholders throughout the ideation, design, and refinement phases of development 
  • Actively participate in feature design decomposition, refinement and grooming activities.
  • Research and Propose new testing methodologies to evolve the state-of-the-art testing needs and practice for the application. 
  • Implement test methods and tools as necessary
  • Mentor and educate other quality engineers and other developers on process, tools, and skill development
  • Deliver high-quality product, collaborating with all development team members to assess risk and actions required to do so
  • Work within a scrum team to accurately estimate testing requirements and communicate consistently with scrum masters on the status of testing progress
  • Understand and represent User Personas to provide customer-focused suggestions and feedback to Product Owners
  • Identify, communicate and manage risks rapidly to team members and management as appropriate
  • Support real-time troubleshooting and resolution in time-critical situations, sometimes outside of core hours.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:

  • B.S. or higher in Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or applicable engineering or science field or equivalent experience (5+ Years)
  • Demonstrated proficiency with QA test execution in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
  • Possess advanced troubleshooting skills, particularly in a microservice architecture
  • Experience with Test Automation for embedded 3D technologies (WebGL, WebGPU, three.js, babylon.js)
  • Experience integrating QA methods and requirements throughout the SDLC via Test-Driven Development.
  • Experience acting as a critical QA resource on a scrum team.
  • Experience designing and conducting performance, load, and stress testing
  • Experience assessing vulnerabilities from static/dynamic application security tests
  • Experience testing web applications and infrastructures that are used globally with a variety of access constraints geographically or technologically
  • Experience testing against a variety of devices and browsers, including Mobile.
  • Demonstrated high responsibility and responsiveness in a high profile QA position 
  • Possess critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Advanced written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficient in at least one programming language, preferably TypeScript/JavaScript

DESIRED EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:

  • Test-driven development experience
  • Proficiency with Postman, or other endpoint testing tools
  • Experience with Playwright, or other Browser testing automation tools
  • Experience with jest, or other JavaScript testing frameworks
  • Experience with AWS
  • Experience with CircleCI
  • Experience with JIRA for issue management
